About the position

The Nursing Faculty at Northwest State Community College is responsible for delivering classroom and clinical instruction in various nursing programs, including LPN-RN Transition and PN Med Surg. This role involves curriculum development, student advising, and active participation in departmental and college committees, ensuring a comprehensive educational experience for nursing students.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate classroom and clinical instruction, preparing and evaluating course materials based on learning outcomes.
• Provide timely feedback on graded coursework and maintain student records.
• Ensure a positive learning environment in classrooms, labs, and clinical sites.
• Supervise and evaluate student progress in accordance with program policies.
• Lead the development, assessment, and evaluation of nursing curriculum and courses.
• Assist in planning and modifying the nursing program as needed.
• Provide leadership to adjunct faculty and student workers, including orientation for new faculty.
• Participate in student retention efforts through academic advising and counseling.
• Facilitate relationships with clinical facilities, colleges, and high schools for cooperative education.
• Attend and participate in various program and college meetings and committees.
• Engage in professional development to enhance instructional skills and course content.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing.
• Baccalaureate degree in nursing and a master's degree or higher in nursing required.
• Current, valid licensure as a registered nurse in Ohio and other states as needed.
• At least three years of nursing practice experience.
• Teaching experience is desired.
• Valid driver's license.
