About the position

The Nursing Home Administrator at The Village at Rockville is responsible for leading an interdisciplinary team to provide exceptional healthcare services to residents. This role emphasizes building strong relationships with residents and their families, fostering a sense of community, and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. The administrator will oversee healthcare programs, manage departmental policies, and ensure high standards of care and safety are maintained, all while contributing to the overall well-being of the residents.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a role model for upholding company policies and procedures
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Healthcare Services programs and activities
  • Assist department health care leaders in the development and use of departmental policies and procedures
  • Interpret Healthcare Services policies and procedures for team members and stakeholders
  • Represent Healthcare Services in dealings with outside agencies
  • Make routine inspections of the Healthcare Services to ensure compliance
  • Oversee Healthcare Services surveys and ensure accountability across departments
  • Review and develop a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during surveys
  • Maintain close liaison with residents, guests, families, and POAs
  • Participate on various committees such as the Resident or Family Council Meetings
  • Lead the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) Committee
  • Establish relevant Key Performance Indicators for healthcare functional areas
  • Consult with department leaders to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas
  • Assist the Executive Director in promoting cross-training and cross-utilization of team members
  • Ensure high standards of care and safety are maintained
  • Authorize the purchase of equipment/supplies according to policies
  • Directly oversee community clinic, rehabilitation services, skilled nursing, and assisted living departments
  • Prepare an annual operating and capital budget for approval
  • Review and interpret monthly financial statements for the executive director and governing board
  • Develop and implement a survey-ready program for compliance with regulations
  • Assist the executive director with new projects requiring collaboration
  • Build and foster productive working relationships with senior leadership
  • Oversee and lead a dynamic team, providing coaching and support

Requirements

  • A valid Nursing Home Administrator's license in the state of employment
  • A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred
  • Five years of experience in a skilled nursing care facility or supervisory capacity within a hospital setting
  • Two years of supervisory experience in a life plan community setting
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A deep understanding of healthcare regulations and best practices
  • The ability to foster a culture of compassion and excellence
  • A passion for improving the lives of seniors
