About the position

As a Nursing Home Administrator (NHA), you will lead and oversee the operations of a healthcare facility dedicated to providing exceptional care for elderly residents. This role involves managing staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, fostering a positive environment for residents and families, and driving continuous improvement in the quality of care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall operation of the facility, including oversight of daily operations, clinical care, resident and family relationships, and employee morale and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to the nursing home industry.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders to ensure the nursing home is providing quality care and services.
  • Work with management and staff to identify areas for improvement and develop plans to achieve them.
  • Manage the annual budget for the nursing home facility, review financial statements, and manage expenses.
  • Ensure that all staff members are communicating effectively with residents, families, and other stakeholders, and that all communication is respectful, timely, and accurate.
  • Maintain a positive culture within the nursing home facility and encourage teamwork and collaboration among all staff members.
  • Ensure that residents and their families are satisfied with the level of care and service provided by the nursing home facility.
  • Coordinate with medical personnel to ensure residents receive the highest possible standard of care.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that govern the overall operations of the nursing home.
  • Hire, train, and manage staff to ensure proper delivery of care to the residents.
  • Develop and maintain budgets to ensure financial stability of the nursing home and improve the quality of services provided.
  • Develop relationships with the residents and their families to make sure they are comfortable and satisfied with the care provided.
  • Manage admissions and discharge procedures according to state and federal regulations.
  • Implement quality improvement and risk management programs that continuously evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing home's services.
  • Ensure that the nursing home operates in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with community groups and local businesses to promote the nursing home and develop positive relationships.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with healthcare providers in the community.
  • Ensure the facility is always clean, safe and welcoming.

Requirements

  • Active Nursing Home Administrator license
  • At least three years of experience in healthcare management or a related field
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing nursing homes operations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills
  • Outstanding organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergency situations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Demonstrated success in managing operating expenses of at least $1M annually
