About the position
The Nursing Program Faculty member is responsible for delivering comprehensive education in nursing, including didactic, lab, and clinical instruction primarily at the Dundalk Campus. This role encompasses teaching in both the Practical Nursing and Associate Degree Nursing programs, with a requirement for occasional weekend and evening classes. The faculty member will engage in various teaching formats, including traditional face-to-face, remote, and online classes, ensuring that the curriculum is current and employs active teaching techniques.
Responsibilities
- Provide didactic and clinical instruction in practical nursing courses and other assigned courses within the LPN to RN transition program and RN program.
- Coordinate adjunct faculty assigned to nursing courses.
- Conduct simulated experiences for students.
- Participate in Nursing Program committees as assigned.
- Ensure assigned lectures are current and utilize active teaching techniques.
- Select appropriate student patient assignments for clinical instruction based on course and student abilities.
- Coordinate assigned courses, including scheduling clinicals, grading assignments, creating exams, and providing feedback to students.
- Serve as an advisor to nursing students as assigned.
- Participate in the review of courses and curriculum.
- Enhance teaching skills through feedback from supervisors, peers, and students.
- Engage in School of Health Professions and College committees and activities, including orientation and student recruitment.
Requirements
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
- Master's degree in Nursing or enrollment in the last semester of a Master's degree program.
- Preferred teaching experience.
- Required recent clinical experience.
