About the position

The Nursing Project Coordinator for the Trauma Center is responsible for providing project management analysis, recommendations, and decision support for complex healthcare issues. This role involves leading redesign projects, managing project teams, timelines, and budgets, and ensuring effective communication both internally and externally. The coordinator will work closely with leadership and stakeholders to implement programs and maintain high-quality patient care while managing costs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in redesign projects related to the coordination, delivery, and management of healthcare.
  • Recommends project strategy, identifies best methods and processes, and develops project planning.
  • Facilitates group processes, training, and appropriate application of information technology.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders and sponsors to define project charter, framework, vision, and deliverables.
  • Ensures quality and effectiveness of research and identifies methods to reduce costs while maintaining high-quality patient care.
  • Monitors and maintains project timelines and budget.
  • Contracts with and manages work of internal/external consultants.
  • Coordinates all internal and external communication, representing the project to various groups.
  • Develops and facilitates the execution of an effective implementation plan.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in a management or leadership role and/or project management/operational planning.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or bachelor's degree in a health-related field required.
  • Registered Nurse License (California) is mandatory.
  • Specific subject matter expertise in healthcare operations and care delivery is required.
  • Ability to conceive, plan, and manage team-based projects is essential.
  • Familiarity with healthcare industry strategic business issues and understanding of Kaiser Permanente's operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience with Kaiser Permanente is preferred.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
