About the position

Aequor Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced travel nurse RN specializing in Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing position in Winchester, Massachusetts. This role is designed for registered nurses who are passionate about providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process. The position is structured for a duration of 13 weeks, with a standard work schedule of 36 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour shifts. The start date for this role is set for September 9, 2024. Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit.
  • Monitor and assess patients' conditions before, during, and after labor.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about the labor and delivery process and postpartum care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Document patient care activities and maintain accurate medical records.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide appropriate interventions as needed.

Requirements

  • Must have at least two years of proven experience as a registered nurse in Labor and Delivery.
  • Current RN license in the state of Massachusetts or ability to obtain one before the start date.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; NRP certification preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Previous travel nursing experience is a plus.
  • Specialty certifications in maternal-child health or related fields.
