About the position

The position is responsible for providing leadership to nursing staff at Austin Regional Clinic, ensuring quality medical care and the availability of medical supplies. The role involves coaching, motivating, staffing, evaluating, training, and developing clinical employees while working closely with the management team, physicians, and patients to assure satisfaction and efficiency. The individual will also assist with direct patient care as needed, maintaining compliance and promoting the organization's mission and philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure patient safety, quality care, and customer satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate best practices and quality care.
  • Collaborate with physicians to meet expectations and achieve customer satisfaction.
  • Provide adequate resources for clinical staff to perform their jobs competently.
  • Maintain personal competencies for all specialties in the assigned clinic.
  • Communicate changes and important information to staff.
  • Work efficiently with all departments to promote teamwork.
  • Attend Nursing Ops meetings and participate in sub-committees as needed.
  • Supervise nursing and clinical staff, directing, guiding, teaching, and counseling them.
  • Meet staffing requirements effectively and efficiently.
  • Participate in direct patient care as needed.
  • Hold regularly scheduled staff meetings to communicate information.
  • Delegate responsibilities considering staff competencies.
  • Maintain records of attendance, evaluations, and time off requests.
  • Interview prospective employees and communicate with Human Resources.
  • Coordinate new hire training and on-site training for staff members.
  • Promote organizational values through personal actions and conduct.
  • Participate in developing and working towards clinic goals.
  • Measure performance using established standards and tools.
  • Evaluate performance and provide regular feedback to staff.
  • Collaborate with the Clinic Manager on financial decisions and budgeting.
  • Anticipate and manage costs effectively and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • At least two years of nursing experience.
  • Supervisory or lead experience preferred.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
  • Current AHA approved Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card.
  • Strong nursing skills and ability to serve as a resource to staff.
  • Ability to analyze problems, make decisions, and manage conflict.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
