About the position

The Nursing Technician in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Northwest Hospital plays a crucial role in providing high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based critical care to patients. This position involves working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) and collaborating with the healthcare team to assist in various patient care duties, ensuring adherence to nursing standards and hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing a variety of patient care related duties under the supervision of the RN.
• Maintain the standards of nursing care for all patients in the ICU.
• Implement policies and procedures of the unit, hospital, and nursing department.
• Utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status and implement clinical nursing interventions.
• Develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience with Hoyer lift and communication devices.
• Familiarity with specialty beds and automatic blood pressure cuffs.
• GNA/CNA licensure required.
• Current CPR card from AHA.
