About the position

The Nursing Technician at CHI Memorial Hospital provides essential nursing care and support to patients under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role involves assisting with personal care, monitoring patient conditions, and ensuring a safe and organized environment for patient care. The position is part of a defined care team and requires adherence to established procedures and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and support to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Assume responsibility for the implementation and documentation of delegated care tasks for assigned patients.
• Care for patients with a variety of acute to critical medical/surgical problems across different age groups.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene tasks, including feeding, bathing, and transferring patients.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for specific procedures and examinations.
• Monitor, report, and document all clinical activities within assigned tasks.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN.
• Assist nursing staff with patient admission, discharge, and transfer activities.
• Maintain a neat and organized work environment, including ordering and stocking supplies.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
• Engage in ongoing education and orientation to the role of an RN.

Requirements

• Current enrollment and in good standing in a full-time Nursing (Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse) program.
• AHA BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
