About The Position

The Nursing Technicians/Nurse Techs position at the University of Washington involves providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role is essential in supporting various clinical areas across three hospital locations, ensuring patient safety, and facilitating continuity of care from admission to discharge.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Washington State Board of Nursing approved Nursing Education Program.
• Completed at least one clinical rotation by the start of Orientation.
• CPR certification is required.
• Resume, one clinical evaluation, and completed school Skills Checklist are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in providing direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Collect and document data during the delivery of care.
• Communicate findings and changes in patient condition to the supervising RN.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to provide continuity of patient care.
• Transport patients, supplies, and specimens as needed.
• Order and stock supplies to ensure availability.
• Monitor and assess patient safety, mobilization, and hygiene activities.

Benefits

• Night premium - $2.00/hour
• Weekend premium - $1.50/hour
