About the position

The Nutrition Care Representative (Diet Clerk) at Cedars-Sinai plays a crucial role in facilitating patient food services within the patient care unit. This position involves processing and interpreting physician diet prescriptions, ensuring patient menu selections align with dietary orders, and addressing patient satisfaction concerns. The role requires collaboration with leadership to enhance the quality of nutrition care services provided to patients.

Responsibilities

• Review and modify patient menus by adding, deleting, or substituting food items according to physician's and dietitian's orders.
• Obtain menu selections at the patient's bedside or over the phone, ensuring compliance with the physician's diet order and departmental guidelines.
• Explain menu modifications and substitutions to patients.
• Navigate patients through the menu system and services offered by the department.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associate Degree/College Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition preferred.
• At least one (1) year of customer service experience in an acute care hospital as a Diet Clerk/Aide preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Computer proficiency is a requirement.
