About the position

The Nutrition Partner (On-Call) position at Kaiser Permanente involves ensuring the proper setup and delivery of meals and supplies for both patient and non-patient food service. Responsibilities

  • Collects patient meal and snack choices according to diet order, accommodating age-specific, food allergy, religious, cultural, and food preference needs.
  • Offers alternative food and beverage selections to patients and resolves issues with the patient care team or registered dietitian.
  • Prints documents using CBORD software and prepares tray tickets for tray-line service.
  • Assembles patient meals and snacks accurately according to diet orders and tray tickets.
  • Delivers meals and snacks to patients, ensuring proper storage and serving.
  • Receives and stores product deliveries, organizing them according to FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
  • Inspects deliveries for accuracy and condition, signing invoices as authorized.
  • Stocks assigned areas with products according to defined par levels.
  • Cleans and sanitizes assigned pantry and kitchen surfaces and equipment regularly.
  • Records assigned data such as food storage temperatures and meal counts, following up on any discrepancies.
  • Documents equipment malfunctions and prepares orders for food and supplies as needed.
  • Monitors patient information and initiates follow-up based on data changes.
  • Utilizes facility technology to complete assigned tasks and responds to customer inquiries.
  • Assists in training new employees as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
  • Data entry skills utilizing Word or Excel database systems.
  • Ability to draft short correspondence and present information effectively.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six months experience in a nutritional services department or diet office in an acute care or skilled nursing facility.
  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets.
