About the position

The Nutrition Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting both internal and external sales departments within an Agri Business. This position focuses on utilizing customer service and nutrition knowledge to assist with sales support, formulation entry, and pricing assessment, ensuring excellent service to the team and their customer base.

Responsibilities

• Work with customers to assess animal feed requirements and forage quality as they come in or call in.
• Enter, update, and review formulations from external sales and independent consultants.
• Serve as the primary customer service expert for customer complaints and sales/service issues.
• Update weekly pricing.
• Set up new items in Microsoft GP.
• Set up new customers in Microsoft GP.
• Process receiving paperwork on incoming bulk and bag ingredients.
• Quote customers and consultants as requested.
• Assist the internal sales department in various research tasks utilizing Smartlist Reports.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Prior experience in customer service (2 years preferred).
• Prior experience in feed nutrition issues (2 years preferred).
• Complex math skills required.
• Excellent communication skills for effective communication with other department staff and senior management.
• Organizational abilities to ensure all paperwork is complete, accurate, and filed correctly.
• Critical thinking abilities to spot problems and solve them with minimal direction.
• Accountability and integrity to ensure compliance with SQF and GMP policies, reporting mistakes or errors immediately.
• Significant analytical ability to gather and summarize data, find solutions to administrative problems, and prioritize work.
