About the position

The Nutritional Services Supervisor at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is responsible for overseeing daily operations related to patient meal services, catering, and cafeteria/food production functions. This role involves working closely with management to establish operational expectations and priorities, ensuring high standards of sanitation and productivity, and actively participating in customer service initiatives. The supervisor will also engage with staff and customers, conduct team meetings, and manage employee training and performance evaluations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations for patient meal services, catering, and cafeteria/food production functions.
• Work closely with the Manager to establish expectations, plans, and priorities.
• Hold staff accountable for standards such as sanitation and productivity.
• Conduct team meetings, employee recognition, and diversity awareness.
• Schedule employees for training and conduct performance evaluations.
• Participate in outstanding customer service and maintain respectful relationships with all stakeholders.
• Ensure operational efficiency, including appropriate staffing and food inventory management.
• Train employees on policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulations.
• Conduct daily inspections and audits of work areas, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years' experience in the food service and/or hospitality industry or two years of previous leadership experience.
• Culinary Arts degree (preferred).
• Three years' experience in the food service and/or hospitality industry (preferred).
• ServSafe manager or equivalent certification within 30 days of hire.
