About the position

The Expert Software Architect position at Voyatek involves leading the architecture and design sessions for the NYS Department of Tax & Finance Team. The role focuses on integrating various technologies into a cohesive architectural platform, ensuring alignment with the agency's strategic direction, and enhancing application development processes. The architect will also be responsible for researching new technologies, proposing innovative solutions, and providing training to development teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design sessions to ensure technical solutions align with the agency's strategic direction.
• Integrate disparate technologies, products, and applications into a robust architectural platform.
• Abstract technical implementation specifics from application development.
• Research and evaluate state-of-the-art technologies that meet the agency's business needs.
• Reduce complex business problems into implementable patterns.
• Design and implement productivity tools for rapid application development.
• Investigate opportunities for improvement and propose innovative ideas.
• Design modifications or extensions to runtime frameworks with minimal impact on existing applications.
• Support multiple application teams with design and technical issues.
• Conduct performance analysis and recommend improvements.
• Present technical solution proposals to management and technical teams.
• Document technical solutions proposed and implemented.
• Design training material and conduct training sessions for developers.

Requirements

• 84 months experience with large government organizations, including business knowledge, technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of complete Business-Related Processing.
• 24 months experience in design, development, and management of Business Automation applications deployable to ODM, ADS, or BAW platforms.
• 48 months experience in design and development of customizable self-service systems integrating with IBM ODM and IBM SPSS, deployed on IBM BPM.
• 60 months experience in design and development of SOA/SDO components and BPEL processes using IBM WebSphere Integration Developer.
• 84 months experience in performance tuning applications interacting with databases such as DB2 and Sybase.
• 84 months experience with IBM EAD4J and JADE java frameworks for application development.
• 24 months experience designing and developing applications in RedHat Open Shift environment.
• 84 months experience in system analysis and design for multi-tiered transactional systems.
