About the position

The O365 Tenant Automation Engineer will support the Defense Enterprise Office Solution (DEOS) Cloud Service Offering contract for a major government agency. This role involves a combination of remote and onsite work, focusing on automating tenant management and enhancing software development practices to ensure compliance with DoD standards. The engineer will be responsible for implementing automation solutions, developing software design documents, and providing technical expertise in cloud environments.

Responsibilities

  • Follow software development best practices to facilitate collaboration, feature enhancement, issue tracking, testing, development, and production deployment.
  • Implement automation of tenant management and other tasks using Power Platform, PowerShell, APIs, etc.
  • Utilize parameter driven, declarative syntax models to afford flexibility and simplicity to subscribing organizations.
  • Implement Policy as Code (PaC) using platforms like Ansible, Terraform, M365DSC, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, supporting release validation efforts.
  • Provide top-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex software systems programming and analysis.
  • Design architectures to include the software, hardware, and communications to support present technical specifications.
  • Ensure systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for DoD architectures.
  • Determine and identify high level functional and technical requirements based on interactions with the user community.
  • Interact with project management to plan project schedules and technical direction.
  • Develop software design documents and technology white papers.
  • Develop high level system design diagrams, testing, and documentation.
  • Responsible for quality assurance review and the evaluation of existing and new software products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 10 years related technical experience required.
  • An additional 4 years of related technical experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Secret security clearance required.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II (Security+ or equivalent) certification required.
  • Experience in Cloud, Azure, MS Office 365 support environments.
  • PowerShell scripting - specifically with Graph and Azure function apps.
  • Experience with an automation framework.
  • Power Platform/Power BI experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Automation of tenant configurations using Microsoft 365 related API endpoints.
  • Online collaboration on configuration changes using a distributed revision control system (ie Git).
  • Experience with the Microsoft 365 Management Interfaces.
  • Experience with Agile/SCRUM software development.
