About the position
Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking an OB Hospitalist to provide comprehensive obstetric care in a supportive and collaborative environment. The role involves overseeing deliveries, managing patient care in a Level II Special Care Nursery, and working closely with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals. The position offers autonomy in scheduling and practice operations, with a focus on patient-centered care and strong administrative support.
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour OB care with oversight of midwives and unassigned obstetrics patients.
- Facilitate patient transfers and manage consults for gynecology.
- Perform scheduled C-sections and non-emergent surgeries as needed.
- Collaborate with a pediatric hospitalist service for in-house care.
- Participate in high-risk meetings remotely as required.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in OB/GYN
- Ohio medical license (or willingness to obtain)
- Malpractice history review
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a similar hospitalist role
- Familiarity with integrated EMR systems, specifically Cerner
