About the position

The Scrub Tech II position at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is a vital role within the surgical team, focusing on providing competent perioperative care to patients under the direct supervision of a qualified professional nurse. This position is designed for individuals who are prepared to assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing care for surgical patients. The Scrub Tech II will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of immediate surgical care are executed effectively, contributing to the overall success of surgical procedures. This role requires a commitment to family-centered care principles and evidence-based practices, ensuring that patients and their families receive the highest quality of care throughout their surgical experience. In this role, the Scrub Tech II will collaborate with various units and professionals within the Birth Center and Shawnee Mission Health, ensuring seamless care for families served. The position involves active participation in unit-based committees and adherence to infant security practices as outlined in the Birth Center Infant Security Policy. The Scrub Tech II is expected to attend at least 50% of scheduled unit staff meetings and is accountable for obtaining information from any missed meetings. This position is a full-time role with night shifts from 5:45 pm to 6:15 am, providing an opportunity to work in a supportive and community-focused environment that values the well-being of both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and implementing care of the surgical patient.
  • Provide competent perioperative care under the supervision of a qualified professional nurse.
  • Participate in unit-based committees to improve patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Adhere to infant security practices as outlined in the Birth Center Infant Security Policy.
  • Attend a minimum of 50% of scheduled unit staff meetings and obtain information from any missed meetings.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • BCLS obtained through the American Heart Association
  • No previous experience required
