About the position
The OB Surgical Tech at AdventHealth provides essential direct and indirect patient care in obstetrics, the operating room, and the newborn nursery. This role involves assisting in surgical procedures, patient monitoring, and ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and a commitment to excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide bedside patient care including vital signs, blood sugars, baths, feeding, and repositioning.
- Scrub in for Cesarean Sections.
- Assist with circumcision set up and instrument cleaning.
- Set up delivery table and clean delivery instruments.
- Turn over the OB OR between cases.
- Stock patient rooms, OBED, and OB OR.
- Provide assistance to nurses when providing patient care.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Attend deliveries and assist RN to provide care.
- Perform secretary duties including answering phones, visitor screening, supply management, and management of the delivery register.
- Conduct cart checks.
- Perform 24-hour testing on newborns including hearing screens, lab work, and Critical Congenital Heart Disease (CCHD) screening.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Maintains CPR certification.
