About The Position

The OB Technician plays a crucial role in the obstetric department by assisting with various tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. This position involves maintaining a safe and organized environment, supporting operative and delivery room procedures, and providing clerical support to ensure patient care and comfort.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assistant Program, Surgical Technologist Program, or hold CNA or LPN certification.
  • Previous experience as a Surgical Tech or OB Tech is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is required.
  • State of Wisconsin licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Nursing Assistant Certification is required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Organize the environment and maintain equipment in the obstetric department.
  • Assist with operative and delivery room procedures.
  • Perform basic tasks necessary for the care, comfort, and safety of patients.
  • Provide clerical support as needed.
  • Report to Labor and Delivery Leadership, Charge Nurses, and RNs on duty.
