About the position

Join a leading health system in southeastern Kentucky as a Board Certified/Board Eligible OBGYN. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a small, vibrant town known for its artsy culture and community spirit, located near the borders of Tennessee and Virginia. The hospital group features a Level 1 Nursery and provides a supportive environment with a focus on work/life balance. You will be part of a professional yet laid-back team that values collaboration and operates in a low red-tape atmosphere. The incoming OBGYN will benefit from the assistance of a Nurse Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, and locum tenens physicians, ensuring a well-rounded support system for patient care. The role involves approximately 140 deliveries per year, with a full suite of procedures available, including the use of a DaVinci robot for minimally invasive surgeries. The position is designed for the delivery of babies at 35 weeks and later, allowing for a focused and manageable practice. Compensation is competitive, reaching up to the 75th percentile of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) standards, and includes a comprehensive benefits package. This package features a base salary, RVUs, sign-on bonus, residency stipend, relocation assistance, loan assistance, continuing medical education (CME) support, paid time off (PTO), and malpractice coverage. Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to patients.
  • Perform deliveries and manage labor and delivery processes.
  • Utilize the DaVinci robot for surgical procedures as needed.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Midwives and Nurse Practitioners in patient care.
  • Participate in the management of a Level 1 Nursery.
  • Engage in community outreach and education regarding women's health issues.
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
  • Valid medical license to practice in Kentucky or eligibility for licensure.
  • Experience in managing deliveries and performing gynecological procedures.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and staff.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining a positive work environment.
