About the position
Boca Raton Regional Hospital is seeking an Obstetric Technician for the Labor and Delivery unit. This position involves preparing, organizing, and monitoring the sterile field environment under the direction of a surgeon and registered nurse for assigned surgical cases. The OB Tech will perform various duties under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, including assisting in vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and other gynecological surgical procedures. The role requires maintaining equipment and supply inventory to ensure optimal safety, efficiency, and timely response to patient care needs within the unit. Additionally, the OB Tech may assist in the Newborn nursery and postpartum units as needed and directed. This position is critical in delivering quality care in a compassionate manner, reflecting the hospital's commitment to patient-centered healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and organize the sterile field environment for surgical cases under the direction of a surgeon and registered nurse.
- Perform OB technician duties for vaginal deliveries, cesarean deliveries, and other gynecological surgical procedures.
- Maintain equipment and supply inventory to ensure optimal safety and efficiency in patient care.
- Assist in the Newborn nursery and postpartum units as needed and directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- BLS Certification required.
- Graduate of Scrub Technician Training Program preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
- Certification in relevant areas preferred.
