About The Position
The Occupancy Coordinator is responsible for the daily operations of undergraduate and graduate housing assignments, working under the direction of the Assistant Director. This role requires strong written and verbal communication skills to provide excellent customer service through the Housing email account and the HOME Phone Line, and it includes participation in a 24/7 duty rotation. The Occupancy Coordinator regularly utilizes housing management software to maintain accurate rosters and provide essential information to the department, campus partners, and the Census Bureau. Key tasks include creating, modifying, and cancelling bookings, as well as responding to waitlist and room change requests. In terms of administration, the Occupancy Coordinator manages the day-to-day operations of housing, which encompasses administrative tasks, student support, and coordination with various departments. This includes utilizing housing management software to coordinate housing assignments for both undergraduate and graduate students, processing resident applications, managing waitlists, and ensuring compliance with departmental policies. The role also involves communication, outreach, and recruitment efforts, such as updating Mailchimp rosters and collaborating with Accessible NU to manage housing and dining accommodations. The position requires participation in evaluation processes, including holding focus groups with students to assess the effectiveness of the room selection process and soliciting feedback from staff. Additionally, the Occupancy Coordinator facilitates webinars for returning student room selection and represents Residential Services at housing fairs and Wildcat Days. The role also includes program development responsibilities, such as planning and promoting webinars, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding housing operations. Finally, the Occupancy Coordinator participates in strategic planning within the Division of Student Affairs and Residential Services, along with other assigned duties.
