The Occupancy Operations Coordinator at the University of New Hampshire plays a crucial role within the Housing Occupancy Management Team, overseeing various department-wide processes and systems. This position is responsible for the daily management of StarRez, the housing occupancy management system utilized by UNH staff. The coordinator collaborates closely with campus and USNH partners on significant StarRez projects and initiatives, ensuring that the system meets the needs of the university community. A key aspect of this role involves providing direct customer service through the supervision and management of the UNH Housing front desk and student staff. The coordinator also assists with housing cancellations, exemption requests, and occupancy-related partnerships, among other tasks. In addition to managing the StarRez system, the coordinator is tasked with ensuring the functionality and user-friendliness of the Housing Portal. This includes working with the USNH Enterprise Technology & Services to develop and manage various housing-related applications, room selection processes, maintenance requests, and occupancy reporting. The coordinator is responsible for maintaining data integrity in StarRez according to university guidelines and providing training and ongoing support to UNH staff and students in using the system. This role may require occasional after-hours and weekend assistance during peak housing seasons, such as semester move-in and move-out periods. The coordinator also manages the front desk operations, which includes hiring, training, and supervising approximately 10 student employees. This involves ensuring that the front desk staff is well-informed about university and departmental processes and policies, as well as anticipating seasonal activities. Regular meetings with the student staff are scheduled to develop their skills and manage their workflow effectively. Furthermore, the coordinator provides ongoing assistance with occupancy-related processes, including reviewing cancellation requests and working with multiple university departments to confirm student statuses and apply appropriate fees to financial accounts. As a departmental point-of-contact, the coordinator represents various partnerships and services, contributing to the overall success of the housing operations at UNH.
