About the position

The Occupancy Operations Coordinator serves as a vital member of the UNH Housing Occupancy Management Team, responsible for overseeing various department-wide processes and systems. This role is crucial in managing the daily operations of StarRez, the housing occupancy management system utilized by UNH staff. The coordinator collaborates closely with campus and USNH partners on significant StarRez projects and initiatives, ensuring that the system meets the needs of the university community. In addition to technical management, the position entails direct customer service responsibilities, particularly through the supervision and management of the UNH Housing front desk and student staff. The coordinator is tasked with providing assistance with housing cancellations, exemption requests, and other occupancy-related partnerships, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation within the housing department. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service for students and staff alike. The coordinator will also be responsible for training and guiding UNH staff and students in the effective use of StarRez and the Housing Portal, ensuring data integrity and user satisfaction. The position may require occasional after-hours and weekend support during peak housing seasons, such as semester move-in and move-out periods, highlighting the need for flexibility and dedication to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day use of StarRez Residential Community Management Software for UNH Housing and UNH Residential Life.
  • Coordinate with USNH Enterprise Technology & Services to develop and manage StarRez for various housing-related functions.
  • Ensure the functionality and user interface of the Housing Portal and StarRez are maintained and user-friendly.
  • Provide training and ongoing assistance to UNH staff and students in using StarRez and the Housing Portal, including troubleshooting issues.
  • Supervise the UNH Housing front desk and manage front-line customer service operations.
  • Hire, train, and supervise approximately 10 student employees at the front desk, ensuring they provide effective housing-related services.
  • Stay updated on university and department processes to instruct student staff on relevant information and seasonal activities.
  • Assist with occupancy-related processes, including reviewing cancellation requests and housing requirement exemptions.
  • Serve as the departmental point-of-contact for various partnerships and services, including the United States Census and StarRez.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience, or an Associate's degree and four years of experience, or a combination of education and experience equal to six years.
  • Experience with housing assignment software, preferably StarRez, and Workday.
  • Proficiency in PC and Network Server management.
  • Familiarity with UKG - Kronos, digital cameras, and scanners.
  • Experience in software utilization and network management.
