About the position
The Occupational Health & Wellness Nurse Practitioner will provide quality patient care by assessing, treating, and managing wellness or common illnesses and injuries. This role involves collaboration with other medical professionals, documentation of patient visits, and adherence to medical protocols and procedures. The Nurse Practitioner will work in a full-time capacity, Monday to Friday, with no weekends or holidays, ensuring a balanced work-life schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assess and provide treatment and medically manage wellness or common illnesses and injuries according to medical protocols.
- Perform historical documentation and physical examinations.
- Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies to treat patients.
- Furnish/prescribe medications based on patient assessments and protocols.
- Counsel patients regarding treatment plans, medication use, dosage, and side effects.
- Cooperate with collaborating physicians and refer patients to appropriate providers when necessary.
- Utilize a computer documentation system to document patient visits in accordance with hospital policy and standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure coordination of patient care duties.
Requirements
- Currently licensed in the state of Indiana as an RN.
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) program and maintain required certification.
- Approximately two years of clinical experience in the area of specialty is preferred.
- Possess Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain prior to providing direct patient care.
- Ability to educate staff, patients, and families.
- Willingness to collaborate with other medical professionals.
