About the position

The Occupational Health Nurse plays a crucial role in supporting the business objectives by leveraging occupational health and wellbeing expertise to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. This position focuses on mitigating occupational health risks and costs through partnerships, empowering associates with health tools, and providing proactive interventions as a trusted resource.

Responsibilities

  • Build trusted, credible partnerships with site leaders and stakeholders to drive healthy culture change through influence.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Health and Wellbeing team to deploy strategy and inspire healthy habits.
  • Provide COE level expertise to support site initiatives and escalations on health and wellbeing issues.
  • Translate population-health data and clinical dashboards to create customized reports identifying gaps and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Participate in communities of practice to share learnings and support the team.
  • Seek continuous learning opportunities and leverage technology to advance Occupational Health practices.
  • Develop and implement an action plan for addressing key health risks based on data sources.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee health information as mandated by HIPPA and company policy.
  • Provide health care education to prevent injury and illness.
  • Support benefit utilization through health fairs and partnerships with the Benefits organization.
  • Interact regularly with Associates through walk-throughs, inspections, and risk assessments.
  • Provide clinical nursing assessment and management of occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Manage OSHA and company regulated health monitoring programs.
  • Identify Associates with potential occupational exposures and determine medical surveillance needs.
  • Ensure regulatory processes for work-related injury claims are followed.
  • Liaise with HSE staff to identify trends in Occupational Injuries/Illnesses and support safety initiatives.
  • Participate in workplace ergonomic assessments.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years Occupational Health experience
  • BS in Nursing required, Masters Degree preferred
  • Registered Nurse License required
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong Business Acumen required
  • Strong collaboration, critical thinking, and influencing skills
  • Previous stakeholder management experience

Nice-to-haves

  • COHN/S (Certified Occupational Health Nurse) preferred
  • CAOHC Hearing Conservation Certification preferred
