Responsibilities

  • Administers the procedures of the occupational and environmental health and safety program consistent with the company's general policies concerning health services.
  • Collaborates in the design of controls for occupational injury and illness prevention.
  • Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of health information consistent with laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrates compliance with state laws governing nursing practice.
  • Plans and implements health promotion and disease prevention strategies and programs.
  • Coordinates the site case management program.
  • Identifies changes in case management practice and treatment plans to bring about appropriate care and cost-effective outcomes.
  • Assesses the health needs of employees and employee populations.
  • Implements occupational and environmental health and safety education and training.
  • Monitors the work environment to assure the health and safety of employees.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to foster the provision of effective health, safety, and environmental services.
  • Collaborates with researchers and other members of the occupational and environmental health and safety team in participating in research.
  • Identifies resources that describe relevant research findings and applies them to practice.
  • Maintains awareness of technological and professional changes associated with occupational and environmental health and safety.
  • Monitors and documents the quality and effectiveness of care, services, and products provided to client(s).
  • Assumes leadership role in advancing profession.
  • Uses an ethical decision-making framework in all activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing
  • 4+ years experience in occupational health
  • Ability to execute highly complex or specialized projects
  • Basic knowledge of related fields such as safety, ergonomics, toxicology, industrial hygiene, epidemiology.
