The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is responsible for providing occupational health services and improving the health, safety, and wellness of our colleagues. This position will work closely with all departments to ensure seamless disability case management, first aid response, and overall support for all occupational health initiatives. In this role, you can expect to provide leadership in Health and Safety by acting as a model of responsible behavior. You will promote the use of safe practices, identify risks associated with tasks, eliminate or control them to provide an accident-free environment. As an OHN, you will act as a liaison between the management team and the line team, as well as with other operations teams to establish good communication amongst colleagues and management. You will identify development opportunities, schedule training activities, and coach or train colleagues on various tasks related to health and safety. Additionally, you will manage all medical leave cases, including STD and LTD, and work-related and non-work-related injuries, including but not limited to FMLA, Workers Compensation, and ADA. You will coordinate medical accommodations and the return-to-work process, participate in the development and implementation of prevention and well-being activities for employees, and oversee the First Aid Program. You will also monitor first aid and safety kits, ensure the proper functioning of various equipment and materials, develop and implement safety awareness prevention activities for employees, and maintain confidentiality of employees' personal health information and records. Furthermore, you will coordinate drug and alcohol testing and annual onsite Audiogram testing for employees.

Requirements

  • 2-3+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Licensed RN or LPN.
  • Certification of Advanced First Aid.
  • Knowledgeable of Employment laws related to Medical and Disability related leaves.
  • Familiarity with Workers Compensation, Americans with Disability Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
  • Ability to manage several files at once and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong focus on finding solutions and rapid response time.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Outlook, Excel.
  • Ability to work in hot, humid, and noisy high production areas while following safety & PPE policies.
