About the position

The Occupational Therapist Feeding Program at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is a part-time, per diem role focused on providing occupational therapy services to children with feeding difficulties. The position involves direct patient care, education, interdisciplinary communication, and research, contributing to the advancement of occupational therapy practices. The therapist will work in various settings within the hospital, ensuring high-quality care and patient satisfaction while mentoring staff and students.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, including evaluation, documentation, and intervention for children with complex medical and psychological issues.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans with measurable goals and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Educate families and caregivers on therapeutic strategies and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching.
  • Mentor staff and students in occupational therapy practices and contribute to professional development.
  • Ensure comprehensive and effective quality of care through interdisciplinary communication and coordination.
  • Apply research to practice and promote optimal outcomes in patient management.
  • Contribute to departmental policies and procedures, maintaining productivity and fiscal responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Occupational Therapist license in Pennsylvania or New Jersey is required upon hire.
  • Occupational Therapist Registered (OTR) certification from NBCOT is required upon hire.
  • Experience in treating children with feeding difficulties is highly desirable.
  • SOS feeding certification is preferred.
  • Availability during weekdays is highly desirable.

  • Experience in mentoring staff and students in occupational therapy.
