About the position

Amedisys is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team of professionals dedicated to providing patient-centered care in the comfort of patients' homes. In this role, you will deliver occupational therapy services under a physician-approved plan of care, ensuring the safety and effectiveness of the service delivery process. You will be responsible for developing and implementing individualized plans of care that address all problems identified in the assessment or provide a clear rationale for any omitted problems. Additionally, you will supervise home health aides when the registered nurse is not actively involved in the case, ensuring that all care provided meets the highest standards of quality and safety. Timely and accurate documentation of services provided is also a critical component of this position, as it ensures continuity of care and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver occupational therapy services under a physician-approved plan of care, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care addressing all identified problems or provide rationale for omissions.
  • Supervise home health aides when the registered nurse is not actively involved in the case.
  • Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice occupational therapy in the assigned state.
  • Graduation from an occupational therapy program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
  • Eligibility to take, or successful completion of, the entry-level certification examination for occupational therapists developed by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
  • At least one year of related occupational therapy experience to ensure sufficient knowledge and skills to safely provide occupational therapy services to patients.
  • Current CPR certification.
