About the position

The Pediatric Occupational Therapist will work in an outpatient clinic, providing therapy services to children aged 0-21 with various neurological and developmental conditions. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and requires strong communication and organizational skills to manage patient care effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Completes OT documentation in the medical record per department guidelines and completes department records for billing and statistics
  • Manages OT caseload with efficiency and efficacy
  • Manages resources needed to perform OT treatment plan to accomplish the goals set for the patient
  • Plans and coordinates clinical programs in response to patient needs, technologies, clinical practices, regulations and reimbursement
  • Provides regular communication with physicians, supervisor, and others regarding OT programs and patients served
  • Provides clinical supervision and teaching for OT students or staff, including planning orientation and learning activities
  • Selects and performs appropriate Occupational Therapy (OT) evaluation procedures to identify and assess problems, sets treatment goals, and devises a treatment plan

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the state of North Carolina
  • At least two years of experience preferred in pediatric neurological and developmental rehabilitation

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with diagnoses such as autism, sensory processing disorders, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, muscular dystrophy, hemiplegia, fine motor delay, brachial plexus, spina bifida, splinting, and premature traumatic brain injury
  • Interest in aquatic therapy, splinting, wheelchair and equipment evaluations, and functional electrical stimulation
