About the position

The position involves performing patient evaluations and administering interventions in various inpatient settings, including acute care, mental health units, and skilled nursing facilities. The role also includes responsibilities such as departmental performance improvement, clinical education, and serving as a clinical supervisor to assistant and support personnel. The individual will participate in case management with a multidisciplinary team and must adapt their work and customer service to meet the diverse needs of patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient evaluations and administer interventions in inpatient settings.
  • Engage in departmental performance improvement and clinical education.
  • Serve as clinical supervisors to assistant and support personnel.
  • Act as a resource for program or product line development.
  • Participate in patients' case management with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Adapt work and customer service to accommodate the unique needs of patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in occupational therapy.
  • Current Texas license in occupational therapy.
  • Basic Life Support certification from an AHA approved program.
  • Two years of work experience as an occupational therapist, or one year as an OT with two years as a COTA with a completed bridge program.
  • Competency in operating Occupational Therapy equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Specialty certification in occupational therapy preferred.
  • Experience in acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, or skilled nursing settings preferred.
