About the position

The Occupational Therapist in the Inpatient Rehab Therapy department is responsible for evaluating, planning, and providing therapy to disabled patients. This role emphasizes creating a safe environment that promotes effective team functioning and positive patient outcomes while ensuring personal safety.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients' needs and develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Provide therapy to disabled patients in an acute care setting.
  • Establish and maintain a safe environment for effective team functioning.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, peers, patients, families, and physicians.
  • Incorporate understanding of patients' developmental, physical, and emotional needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Valid Indiana Occupational Therapist license or temporary permit.
  • Previous experience in an Acute Care hospital setting working with adults preferred.
  • Knowledgeable in anatomy/physiology, evaluation and therapy techniques, and current professional trends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with pediatric patients.
  • Familiarity with advanced therapy technologies and materials.
