About the position
The Occupational Therapist in the Inpatient Rehab Therapy department is responsible for evaluating, planning, and providing therapy to disabled patients. This role emphasizes creating a safe environment that promotes effective team functioning and positive patient outcomes while ensuring personal safety.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients' needs and develop individualized therapy plans.
- Provide therapy to disabled patients in an acute care setting.
- Establish and maintain a safe environment for effective team functioning.
- Communicate effectively with staff, peers, patients, families, and physicians.
- Incorporate understanding of patients' developmental, physical, and emotional needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Valid Indiana Occupational Therapist license or temporary permit.
- Previous experience in an Acute Care hospital setting working with adults preferred.
- Knowledgeable in anatomy/physiology, evaluation and therapy techniques, and current professional trends.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working with pediatric patients.
- Familiarity with advanced therapy technologies and materials.
