About the position

At Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital Oklahoma City South, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients through our Occupational Therapist (OT) role. This position involves organizing and conducting medically prescribed therapy programs aimed at helping patients achieve their maximum potential. As an OT, you will practice within the scope of the State Practice Act and adhere to all relevant rules and regulations set forth by the National Board and governing bodies in the state of practice. Your role will not only focus on direct patient care but also on promoting the growth and development of the department by assisting in special projects and coordinating activities related to patient care programs. Our facility is a 36-bed rehabilitation hospital that caters to patients aged 18 and over who are recovering from various conditions, including strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopedic injuries. Patients at our hospital receive intensive therapy, with three hours of treatment provided five out of seven days. We strive to create an optimal environment for rehabilitation and recovery, featuring a modern, sunlit facility equipped with private rooms, advanced therapy gyms, and specialized equipment such as the EKSO Skeleton NR and a retrofitted “Smart Car” for mobility therapy. Our amenities also include a therapy courtyard, a furnished Assisted Daily Living apartment, and a dining hall with an outdoor patio, all designed to enhance the experience of our patients, their families, and our staff. Responsibilities

  • Organize and conduct medically prescribed therapy programs for patients.

  • Practice within the scope of the State Practice Act and comply with all relevant regulations.

  • Coordinate activities related to patient care programs.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current Occupational Therapy license or eligibility within the hiring state, with the ability to work under a temporary license for up to 90 days.
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations.

Nice-to-haves

  • National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy.
