About the position

The Occupational Therapist (OT) PRN position at Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital involves providing specialized rehabilitation care to adult and geriatric patients. The role emphasizes collaboration with a skilled team to optimize patient outcomes and restore independence through personalized treatment plans. The OT will be responsible for assessing patient needs, implementing therapy interventions, and ensuring high standards of care in a supportive environment dedicated to superior patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of patients treated by Certified Occupational Therapist Assistants, rehabilitation technicians, and occupational therapy students.
• Assesses patients' needs and initiates appropriate occupational therapy interventions.
• Works cooperatively with other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional occupational therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Observes and evaluates treatment effects and the accomplishment of short and long-term goals, recommending changes to the physician if needed.
• Performs assessments and reassessments on each patient as per policy, including accurate and timely QI scoring.
• Assesses patient pain and makes appropriate interventions to reduce pain, contacting the physician as necessary.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
• May orient staff and students and assume supervisory duties in the absence of the supervisor.

Requirements

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English; additional languages preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in all aspects of occupational therapy preferred, but not required.
