About the position
The Occupational Therapist (OT) position at Select Specialty Hospital involves providing care for chronically and critically ill patients who require extended hospital care. The role focuses on delivering high-quality therapy to patients with complex needs, participating in discharge planning, and supervising therapy assistants and students. Responsibilities
- Treat patients with complex needs and challenging diagnoses.
- Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement and patient/family education.
- Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and OT/COTA students.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
- Monitor patient's response to treatment and modify treatment as needed during sessions.
- Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
- Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
Requirements
- Must hold a valid, current license in the State in which they are practicing.
- Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by start date.
- Graduation from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.
- Eligibility to take or has passed the examination for Occupational Therapists administered by the NBCOT.
- Successful completion of the National Registry Examination.
