About the position

The Occupational Therapist (OT) position at Spaulding Cambridge involves providing occupational therapy services to patients with impairments, functional limitations, or disabilities due to various causes. Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate occupational therapy needs according to organizational and professional guidelines.
  • Develop treatment plans that reflect an understanding of patients' age and situation, including discharge planning.
  • Revise treatment plans based on patient progress towards stated goals.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, timely, and adheres to facility and practice guidelines.
  • Orient, train, and mentor therapy and health care students to meet performance expectations.
  • Identify and act upon performance improvement opportunities to implement best practices.
  • Complete additional department, organization, or network activities as per established objectives.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Licensed as an occupational therapist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic skills in math and computer science.
  • Knowledge of occupational therapy evaluation and treatment techniques for rehabilitation.
  • Effective problem-solving skills for evaluation, treatment planning, and execution considering patients' backgrounds.
  • Basic teaching skills and self-assessment of learning needs and professional goals.
  • Ability to safely execute job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients.
  • Ability to assess and interact with patients and families using theories of human growth and development.
