About the position

ExcelPrep is a specialized school within Champaign County focused on neurodiverse children ages 5-13 or grades K-8. This position requires collaboration with ABA staff and Educators. The role involves conducting evaluations and student assessments to understand needs related to writing, attention, organization, feeding, and sensory. The Occupational Therapist will develop individualized treatment plans based on goals and needs, provide intervention within 1:1 and small group settings, and collaborate with teachers, behavior interventionists, and staff. Additionally, the therapist will develop and design programs to support daily living, independence, and cognitive processing, and document progress, treatment plans, and outcomes daily.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluations and student assessments to understand needs related to writing, attention, organization, feeding, and sensory.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on goals and needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a hospital or acute care setting.
  • Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to develop creative treatment strategies for patients with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Proficiency in using occupational therapy assessment tools.
  • Dedication to staying updated on the latest research and advancements in occupational therapy practice.
