About the position
The part-time Occupational Therapist at Little Friends Center for Autism will be responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans for clients with autism. This role involves assessing client needs, documenting progress, and collaborating with families and other professionals to ensure effective therapy integration into home and school environments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans for referred clients.
- Assess the OT needs of referred clients and write reports with recommendations.
- Write goals ensuring the treatment plan is appropriate and current.
- Document progress on goals using SOAP notes.
- Consult with parents/guardians regarding the integration of occupational therapy plans into the home environment.
- Communicate with schools, doctors, or other therapists to obtain or provide information as per parental requests.
- Provide 6-month progress summaries on all clients in caseload.
Requirements
- Degree in Occupational Therapy with Illinois state licensure.
- Experience with pediatric and autism population preferred.
- School or clinic experience preferred.
- Experience with sensory integration preferred.
