About the position

The Occupational Therapist - PEDS (Relief) position at Oregon Health & Science University involves providing therapeutic services to pediatric patients in a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and welfare of patients and fellow employees.
  • Utilize proper posture and sound body mechanics for safe patient handling.
  • Maintain general good physical and mental health to ensure safety in the clinical setting.
  • Model ethical behavior and maintain professional standards.
  • Identify and pursue continuing education opportunities.
  • Participate in departmental staff meetings and in-service education programs.
  • Evaluate patients to determine therapy needs and establish treatment goals.
  • Document evaluations and treatment plans in compliance with regulations.
  • Provide skilled rehabilitation treatment and monitor patient progress.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Requirements

  • Completion of an occupational therapy educational program recognized by the Oregon Occupational Therapy Licensing Board.
  • Outpatient or acute care pediatric affiliation or experience.
  • Knowledge and skills to conduct in-depth evaluations and develop occupational therapy programs.
  • American Heart BLS Certification.
  • Oregon Occupational Therapist License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD).
  • Ambulatory and acute care experience in pediatrics.
  • NICU and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience.
  • Experience with patients aged 0-15 years.
  • NICU specialty certification.
