About the position
The Occupational Therapist - PEDS (Relief) position at Oregon Health & Science University involves providing therapeutic services to pediatric patients in a safe and supportive environment. Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and welfare of patients and fellow employees.
- Utilize proper posture and sound body mechanics for safe patient handling.
- Maintain general good physical and mental health to ensure safety in the clinical setting.
- Model ethical behavior and maintain professional standards.
- Identify and pursue continuing education opportunities.
- Participate in departmental staff meetings and in-service education programs.
- Evaluate patients to determine therapy needs and establish treatment goals.
- Document evaluations and treatment plans in compliance with regulations.
- Provide skilled rehabilitation treatment and monitor patient progress.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
Requirements
- Completion of an occupational therapy educational program recognized by the Oregon Occupational Therapy Licensing Board.
- Outpatient or acute care pediatric affiliation or experience.
- Knowledge and skills to conduct in-depth evaluations and develop occupational therapy programs.
- American Heart BLS Certification.
- Oregon Occupational Therapist License.
Nice-to-haves
- Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (OTD).
- Ambulatory and acute care experience in pediatrics.
- NICU and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit experience.
- Experience with patients aged 0-15 years.
- NICU specialty certification.
