About the position

The Occupational Therapist at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation is responsible for evaluating patients' needs for occupational therapy and planning individualized treatment programs. This role emphasizes patient care, interdisciplinary collaboration, and adherence to state licensure and best practices in rehabilitation. The therapist will engage in continuous education and program development to enhance treatment effectiveness and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care, treatment, and services within the scope of their license, certification or registration and as required by Federal and State laws and regulations.
• Support the overall Mission and Vision of Valley Health - Mary Free Bed by providing high-quality service to customers.
• Work in various rehabilitation settings as an active member of the interdisciplinary team, responding to physician referrals and determining patient needs.
• Establish and maintain professional competence, identifying educational needs and seeking learning opportunities from advanced clinicians.
• Deliver rehabilitation services in a timely and efficient manner, adhering to licensure, documentation, and billing guidelines.
• Perform evaluations, interpret results, and implement individualized plans of care using evidence-based treatment.
• Manage individual schedules per departmental expectations and seek assistance when needed.
• Document thorough and accurate accounts of events, observations, and conclusions consistent with professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Post Graduate Certificate, Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
• Virginia OT License or transitional license at time of hire
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart 'Healthcare Provider' (HCP) - AHA approved
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills or participation in computer training within the first year of employment.
