About The Position

The Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays a crucial role in providing clinical interventions and support to individuals with mental illness, facilitating their engagement and self-management. Working under the guidance of an OTR/L, the COTA will assist in skills training and community integration, while also training staff in effective interventions that promote a person-centered approach.

Requirements

• Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with at least one year of related clinical experience.
• Demonstrated high-level skills in clinical assessment and treatment of individuals with mental illness.
• Proficiency in psychiatric rehabilitation and recovery-oriented services.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to make effective public presentations.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct service and program consultation for individuals in skills training.
• Assist individuals in developing skills and establishing natural supports for community living.
• Gather data and report for assessment purposes under the guidance of an OTR/L.
• Train and model effective interventions for staff to promote self-management and skills development.
