About the position

SAIC is seeking a talented Senior DevSecOps Engineer to lead the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Oracle Cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in implementing best practices to operate and maintain resilient and secure Oracle Cloud environments, enabling development teams to deliver features efficiently. This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility in work location. Candidates must possess an Interim Secret Clearance to start and must be able to obtain a full Secret Clearance as part of the role. In this role, the Senior DevSecOps Engineer will be responsible for operating and maintaining cloud environments utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles. The engineer will also focus on the maintenance and ongoing development of automation and continuous integration/deployment infrastructure across multiple environments, which includes writing, building, and deploying scripts. A key aspect of the position involves enabling observability and resilience throughout multi-cloud landing zones and various environments such as Development, Testing, and Production. The engineer will ensure that security and compliance standards are met across all Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) deployments. This includes continuously assessing, onboarding, and enabling new FedRAMP cloud services while applying security best practices for Identity and Access Management (IAM) and networking. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to define and implement cloud architecture best practices is also a critical responsibility of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and SRE principles.
  • Maintenance and ongoing development of automation and continuous build/integration/deployment infrastructure for multiple environments; write, build and deploy scripts.
  • Enable observability and resilience throughout multi-cloud landing zones and Dev/Test/Prod environments.
  • Ensuring security and compliance standards are met across all OCI deployments.
  • Continuously assess, onboard, and enable new FedRAMP cloud services using security best practices for IAM and networking.
  • Collaborating with cross functional teams to define and implement cloud architecture best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of experience, or 9 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance to start and the ability to get a full Secret clearance.
  • Proven background working in cloud environments with experience and knowledge in Agile methodologies including Scrum or Kanban.
  • Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, Artifactory).
  • Oracle OCI certified or equivalent years of experience working with Oracle cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of Oracle cloud concepts (Compartments, Identity Domains, Dynamic groups, etc.).
  • Experience with containerization and container management using Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell or Bash Scripting.
  • Experience with cyber tools such as Aviatrix, Orca, Splunk, Qmulous, and STIG scanner.
  • Knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, and Oracle Stacks.
  • Familiarity with Git, branching strategies, GitFlow and/or GitHub Flow.
  • Understanding of cloud high availability and scalability best practices and architectures.
  • Ability to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Oracle PeopleSoft and PeopleTools experience preferred but not required.
