About the position

The OCONUS Field Service Representative (FSR) at Leidos is responsible for providing comprehensive communications support for deployed aerial surveillance platforms. This role involves managing radio frequency and satellite communication systems, IP networking, and cryptographic devices, ensuring effective communication capabilities in various operational environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and manage HF, UHF, SATCOM, radio communications suites and associated network and cryptographic equipment deployed.
  • Install, configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and manage multiple sensor suites, networks, and accounts.
  • Design, monitor, manage, and troubleshoot internal and external networks to the enclave, including encryptors and firewalls.
  • Assist tech lead with tracking system requirements and development efforts, and support continued engineering of system upgrades/improvements.
  • Report directly to the Technical and Site Lead; interact with operators, users, and military personnel in the delivery of communications services.
  • Maintain systems and develop preventive maintenance schedules; conduct periodic preventive maintenance.
  • Maintain computer IT systems, routers, switches, cabling, desktop hardware, and support VSAT systems and phones.
  • Create outage reports and routine event logs; install large satellite antenna systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 4-8 years engineering experience in Networking, VMware, or Microsoft servers.
  • Security+ certification required.
  • Ability to identify issues and research fixes.
  • Strong desire to grow and learn new technologies.
  • Must be able to obtain a passport or visa to travel internationally.
  • Must be willing to travel CONUS or OCONUS.
  • Must be willing to work in Hardship and Hazardous locations.
  • Must be willing to work long hours and/or non-regular hours with minimal notice.
  • Must be US Citizen.
  • Must have ACTIVE DoD Top Secret security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • VCP, CCNA, or MSCE preferred.
  • Experience with HF/VHF/UHF/SHF radio systems (KOR 24A, PRC 117 series, Vortex, ARC-231 a plus).
  • Experience with SATCOM equipment, radio networks (HPW, Link-11, Link-16, BFT/FBCB2), cryptographic equipment, keying data transfer devices (DTD's), RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers).
  • Basic electronic principles knowledge.
  • Firm knowledge of networking equipment, IP networking, and sub-netting is required.
  • Knowledge on multicast and tunneling a plus.
