The Office Administrator I position at Montrose Elementary School is a full-time role responsible for various administrative tasks in the front office. Responsibilities

  • Answers telephone calls and greets visitors.
  • Types forms, letters, and reports from rough drafts or clean copies using office equipment.
  • Operates office equipment and maintains files containing student cumulative records.
  • Copies and distributes letters, memos, flyers, and other documents as needed.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes interim reports, report cards, transcripts, and other documents.
  • Prepares five-year-old cumulative files for microfilming and shredding according to guidelines.
  • Registers new and transfer students and processes withdrawals.
  • Requests records from former schools and sends copies of records or transcripts to other schools or agencies.
  • Completes data processing responsibilities and associated paperwork in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; some college or business school preferred.
  • Leadership qualities and strong communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to use computers for word processing, spreadsheet data entry, and database maintenance.
