About the position

The Office Administrator I position at Builders FirstSource in Carrollton, TX, is a full-time role responsible for a variety of administrative and office operations support activities for one or more departments. The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate workflow and communications between operating units, vendors, and customers to ensure the smooth operation of day-to-day administrative processes. The Office Administrator will serve as a resource for all office policies, methods, and procedures, and will perform essential data entry and retrieval functions. This position may also involve responding to non-routine information requests and assisting with the preparation of reports, as well as performing various accounting, compliance, inventory, or HR-related duties as requested. In addition to these responsibilities, the Office Administrator may assist with sales orders, invoicing, and customer accounts, providing similar sales transaction support as needed. A critical aspect of this role is to understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to oneself or co-workers. The Office Administrator is expected to attend periodic safety meetings and may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the office's operational needs.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 3 - 5 years of administrative or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and efficiently manage projects.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
