About the position

The Office Administrator I position at Builders FirstSource is a vital role responsible for a variety of general administrative and office operations support activities. This position serves as the first point of contact for visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment while maintaining office security protocols. The Office Administrator will greet visitors, determine the nature of their business, and notify the appropriate staff members. This role also involves preparing routine correspondence, office forms, and other business-related documents, ensuring that all communications are handled efficiently and professionally. In addition to reception duties, the Office Administrator will perform data entry and retrieval functions, manage incoming and outgoing mail, and facilitate interoffice communications. The role may also include managing office supply inventory and replenishment services, ensuring that the office is well-stocked and organized. The Office Administrator will be responsible for arranging meetings and conferences, maintaining calendars, and making travel reservations as needed. Safety is a priority in this role, and the Office Administrator is expected to understand and observe all safety procedures to prevent injury to themselves and coworkers, attending periodic safety meetings and recommending improvements as necessary. This position is essential for the smooth operation of the office, and while it does not have supervisory responsibilities, it requires a proactive approach to support the team effectively. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making flexibility and adaptability key traits for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as office receptionist, greeting visitors and ensuring office security measures are followed.
  • Prepare routine correspondence, office forms, and other business-related documents.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One (1) year of administrative or related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
