About the position

As an Office Administrator II at Builders FirstSource, you will play a crucial role in supporting the administrative and operational processes of the organization. This position is designed for individuals who are detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills. You will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the office and support for one or more departments. Your role will involve coordinating workflow and communications between operating units, vendors, and customers, which is essential for day-to-day operations. You will also serve as a resource for office policies, methods, and procedures, and will be expected to perform data entry and retrieval functions. Responding to non-routine information requests will also be part of your responsibilities. In addition to these tasks, you will assist in the preparation of reports and perform various accounting, compliance, inventory, or HR-related duties as requested. Your ability to arrange meetings, schedule appointments, and make travel reservations will be vital in supporting the team. You will also assist with HR processes and coordinate the transfer of HR data to the regional HR department. Furthermore, you may be involved in sales orders, invoicing, and customer accounts, providing essential support for sales transactions as needed. Safety is a priority at Builders FirstSource, and you will be expected to understand and observe all safety procedures to prevent injury to yourself and your coworkers. You will attend periodic safety meetings and may recommend changes to improve safety procedures. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities, allowing you to focus on your administrative duties and contribute to the overall efficiency of the office.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the preparation of reports and performs various accounting, compliance, inventory, or HR-related duties as requested.
  • Arranges meetings, schedules appointments, and makes travel reservations.
  • Assists with HR processes and coordinates HR data transfer to regional HR.
  • May assist with sales orders, invoicing, customer accounts, and provide similar sales transaction support as requested.
  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or coworkers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 2 years of administrative or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and efficiently manage projects.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
