About the position

The Office Administrator III position is a vital role within the County Auditor's department, responsible for a variety of administrative and support tasks that ensure the smooth operation of the office. Additionally, the Office Administrator III will be tasked with organizing office procedures, supporting document management programs, and preparing ad hoc reports as needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail, which are essential for problem-solving and ensuring accuracy in all tasks. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and Word, is a must, as these tools will be used extensively in daily operations. The role also requires the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and efficiency. The Office Administrator III will be expected to complete tasks in a timely manner and contribute positively to the work environment by exhibiting a strong work ethic and a positive attitude. This full-time position operates on an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday, located at 101 East Methvin Street, Longview, TX 75601.

Responsibilities

  • Office reception duties including greeting visitors and answering phone calls.
  • Assist with internal audit sampling as directed by the County Auditor.
  • Receive payments and issue receipts through cash, checks, or bank debits, including daily closeout and balancing of the cash drawer.
  • Organize and streamline Auditor's Office procedures for efficiency.
  • Handle special project assignments as needed by the department.
  • Extract data from the financial system to prepare ad hoc reports and provide administrative assistance to the County Auditor.
  • Support office document management programs, including scanning and verifying documents.
  • Perform general office duties, providing assistance to other staff and departments as required.

Requirements

  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Associate's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in a governmental environment is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to complete tasks timely and accurately.
  • Strong work ethic, dependable, punctual, and eager to learn.
